Spent the weekend creating a lovely midi length skirt. Am just working on the hem but feel certain this will become an autumn staple combined with leather boots. Have planned to devote a night to putting the summer wardrobe away and pulling out the boots, scarves and capes to combat the Glasgow weather.
Properly stuffed after visit to the 'Granny would be Proud' Mad Hatter's Tea Party at the Argyll Hotel. £10 for all you can eat buffet and cake extravaganza! We had a proper Mad Hatter old boy sitting adjacent to us, resplendent in mustard tweed 3 piece suit and top hat. Just marvellous to be around authentic eccentricity. The 'Granny would be Proud' vintage and crafts sale is on the first Sunday of every month at the Argyll Hotel - well worth a peek for interesting presents.
Productivity on new Spring aprons was halted by lamp blowing on sewing machine last week. I had however managed to produce a few really nice aprons from 'The Perfect Apron' by Rob Merrett. This is one of my current favourite designs with the heart-shaped pocket.
Here's my most recent apron, a move into the 'French Maid' cut which I'm very fond of at present. I'm making a few of these in this nice flowery material and have looked out some smashing cornflower blue material for the next ones.
Really delighted with new find from etsy-land. The Sew-much-to-do necklace is superb and I'm going to purchase upon my return. She's based in Glasgow which makes it all the nicer! http://www.hannahzakari.co.uk/
I like making stuff: really long scarves, capes and aprons.
I run a wee company called skipastitch.com which sells all the lovely things I make, depending on the season.
